Irritable bowel

Does anyone have symtoms similar to IBS? I’m experiencing some digestive problems as well as bloating and the usual constipation but it all seems to be getting worse - I am reluctant to go to my doctor again! I take Tramadol for pain.

Hi Tramadol can make you constipated. I have MS symptoms but dont have MS, however I also have IBS symptoms too. Get very bloated and uncomfortable, I take Rennies for the bloatedness and they work well.

Greetings. I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis two years ago.I was having problems that were different to the ones I’d been enjoying for a couple of years.I don’t need treatment or meds for it,so it just fits in with the rest of the [naughty word].

Hi,

I am undiagnosed and taking tramadol. I also have IBS symptoms which include an urgency to go to the loo with no warning. Ive noticed that since starting with Tramadol ive experienced this less and have constipation instead. For me its a bit of a relief as i would rather not be able to go than worried all the tiime about being caught out!!!

IBS is very common in MS. My neuro told me that loads of MSers are diagnosed with it because gastros can’t find the cause of the problem, but that the central nervous system has an input to digestion so the problem is probably their MS and not their digestive system at all.

It’s best to get it checked out though so you really should see your GP. It’s what they’re there for after all

hey, i have ibs and as your havin ibs like symptoms i would go to see your dr about being reffered for a colonoscopy to get a definate answer to whats wrong, im on buscopan and tramadol for when it kicks off pretty bad, ive had this for near enough 4 years now, as you said its getting worse, then i would go to see your dr about it

Thank you to everyone who has replied about the possibility that I have IBS they have all been very helpful and I am seeing my doctor to explore what is going on, so many thanks again for your support. Really appreciated it all as this is the first time I’ve used the forum.

Have you considered food intolerance as a possible cause? Wheat and dairy are common culprits and might be worth cutting out these food groups (one at a time) for a period of time to see if there is any improvement.

I hope your GP finds a solution.
