Interview with Job Centre Plus

What on earth is the world coming to? I recently filled (or rather my sister did as I can’t hold a pen for long without getting hand spasms) for the Atos medical services very confusing form!! I then recieved a letter to say that I had been placed in the WRAG (wtf I struggle to manage day to day with this illness never mind going & getting a job) so my husband appealed against the decision, I got a letter back to say they were looking at my appeal and if appropriate they would revise the decision in my favour!! That was 8th Oct, however today I recieved a letter inviting me to a personal adviser interview at the end of the month, I rang them to explain my appeal and they say they have no record of this?? Talk about one hand not knowing what the other hand is doing. Top & bottom of it is I have to go to the interview, this is causing me so much angst and frustration to the point it is making my symptoms worse :frowning:

Hi Bambi,

If you go on your own you automatically passed their first work test. Speak to someone at the Job Centre (ATOS); get their name. Say “I would like to attend so could you supply transport to and from and someone to push me in my wheelchair as I have great difficulty in being outside my house without someone to help.”

Don’t harp too much on the writing; you can get speech recognition software that changes speech into writing.

Good luck

George

It’s probably worth chasing your appeal letter Bambi. I tend to send things special delivery now as things do tend to go into a black hole sometimes.

W.r.t. the interviews, you can ask for them to be done over the phone. I went in person to mine a few years ago and the people were very nice and there was no pressure (they have seen it all before) and they have left me alone since.

Please try not to get too stressed about it, it really isn’t worth it.

Hugs for you hun,

Mags xx

Thanks both of you it’s easy to say don’t get too stressed about it, but I’m at the point of pulling my hair out!! The system stinks !! Sue xx

Hi

From my limited experience it may not be worth chasing the appeal up. You say that they have confirmed receipt of this, it may be 3-4 months before a reconsideration is done. I think they do them in date of receipt order from what I have been told.

The other two respondants have made good suggestions.

I am unable to offer more.

Sorry

That’s okay thanks for your input x
