I had a lumbar puncture way back in June, didn’t receive any results for ages so phoned the consultant’s secretary three weeks ago. She told me she couldn’t see any results in her system, put me on hold then came back and said that she had found them but they would need to go to the consultant who would then contact me and the GP.
I was told it would take two weeks. That was four weeks ago. Today, I received a call from the neurological day unit informing me the results were inconclusive and that I need another LP.
Meanwhile my left hand is numb/tingling more often than not at the moment, my legs do their own little dance when resting and my chest feels tight about once a week at least and I feel knackered after just one day at work
Is it normal for LPs to fail?
I’m not relishing the idea of having another, but whatever it takes
