In progress of being newly diagnosed with MS

I’m in the process of being diagnosed with MS at 28 , I had a MRI on my brain and spinal cord and they come back with lesions and saying i definitely fit the criteria for MS ,(Possible relapsing kind).I’m due to see a professor on 2nd march. But in the mean time I just wanted to ask. Is it common for someone with MS to have pain in their back nearly everyday , ranging from okay , to painful other days? The pain is that bad it causes me to have dizzy spells and feel really fatigue. I also get a burning feeling in my legs ,but not warm to touch , aching in my arm and both legs, more so on my left side , and aching around my groin area sometimes , and neck aches , I’m all new to this so just wanted to see if this is normal day to day feeling , they have prescribed me gabepentin in the meantime to help with the pain. Thank you x

Hi, I’m newly diagnosed myself, but just wanted to input a bit. Everything your saying is exactly what I have every single day, apart from I have a few other things. I’ve always just thought to myself I must be getting old, but my back is constantly hurting, neck pain on any movement. I get cold tingly feelings in both legs and arms…and only difference is mine seems to be right side affected more. I see my MS nurse on 19th Feb, going talk things through more. But just wanted say your definitely not the only one with those symptoms. Hope all goes ok with your appointment, all my best wishes Monty.

Hi Monty, Thank you for your response , good to know these are common symptoms I am getting , good luck with your appointment ,and hope you get your answers. I’m not under any Ms nurse at the moment , but will be mentioning that in my next appt as think it will really help me !. Nikita
