I'm back!

Good morning everyone,

Hope today is being kind to you all.

I’m back after a fantastic 3 weeks with my sister who was visiting me

from Australia…we have had a blast! I can’t put into words how I

feel, she has lived in Oz for 40 years, and the last time I saw her was 17

years ago, so as you can imagine, the tears flowed and flowed. In fact,

at one point, I thought we were trying to top up the River Severn!!

My family took her out days all over the place, I even managed a few trips

out, but then had to have the next day in bed…bloody ms.

As I type, she is winging her way back to Oz, so I am happy that she had

managed to come, but sad cos she has had to go back. Sorry if that sounds

selfish, the time went too quickly, but hey, I have the memories is what I keep

telling myself.

Take care all

Pam x

Hello Pam… your post brought a lump to my throat. How amazing for you both!!! 17 years is such a long time!

I can imagine the mixed emotions hon. Australia is such a long way off (understatement of the year). So wonderful she could come and stay.

Well it’s lovely to have you back here darling… but sad as well as you must now be feeling a little lost without her.

Big ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))) from me.

You do have those great memories… and photos as well I hope.

Do you speak to each other on Skype?

Take care Pam… oh and it doesn’t sound selfish at all. I would feel exactly the same about one of my sisters!

Pat xx

I remember you saying last year that you were hoping to see your sister after a long time. It’s really wonderful she came and fantastic that you had such a brilliant time. I can understand all the tears - I would be the same if it were my sister. You must be feeling rather deflated now that she has gone but as Pat says, you have lovely memories to reflect on! Great to have you back Pam, Teresa xx

Hi Pat

Yes, emotions all over the place, today I have found myself

laughing and crying all at the same time (how daft is that) but good memories,

and being my only sibling, there is no one else to share with.

Our bungalow seems so quiet now after such a lot of coming and going,

think it will take time to get back to normal, whatever that is!

Her 24 hours of flying home should be over in about 2 hours time, no

wonder she can’t face the trip too often. I shall be glad to receive her

phone call to say it all went well.

Hi Teresa

Yes it was absolutely fantastic after all these years, quite overwhelming

in fact, emotions all over the place. My only regret is that this bloody ms

would not allow me to go on many trips with her, but I did manage some

so that’s some consolation.

Deflated is a good description of me now, it’s like climbing to the top of

the mountain, and then thinking what do I do now, if that makes sense.

Hope you are feeling much better today, and have got rid of that nasty

bug.

Hi Pam, The worst is over I think - thanks! Hope your sister gets home safely and that you keep your spirits up now that she has gone! Teresa xx

Hi Pam

I’m so pleased for you. My parents lived in South Africa for years and their holidays visiting were fantastic but I’d cry for days when they returned, for the last day or two of their stay I’d be so emotional so I do really feel for you.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Cath

Yes ,it is like an emotional rollercoaster, in one respect you are

so glad to see them, but before long you are dreading the day

when they have to return home. I think I have cried myself dry,

good job for the internet and skype.

Take care

Hi Pam, In the days before Internet and Skype ( how did we manage !?) I lived in Bermuda . The flights to the UK left Bermuda at midnight…those were such long days. I would get so worked up when my son was flying home I would feel sick all day and I couldn’t eat. I would lie awake all night until I knew he was back safe and sound in England! I hope you’ve had the call now to say your sister is safely back in Australia. Thinking of you and hoping you will soon be back on track. Take care, Nina x

Hi Nina

I agree, how on earth did we manage, just letters then through

the post I suppose.

My sister telephoned me a short while ago thankfully, to say

they had arrived back safely…but exhausted.

Pam x

That’s good news Pam…I mean that she is safe and sound…not that she’s exhausted!! I do hope that you are feeling a little better now. Take good care of yourself , Nina x
