Hi everyone! I had a brain and spine MRI at the beginning of October and still haven’t had a h results as of today 2/11/24.
Is that a normal wait time?
I’m not diagnosed with MRI but have a million symptoms so they wanted to have a look what was going on.
Am I right in thinking that this long of a wait means that there’s nothing wrong with me? Or do mri results take weeks to even get looked at?
Hi I had full spine and brain mri 5 weeks ago today and I still haven’t heard anything (Hull).
1st neuro appointment tomorrow.
It took 3 months to get my last MRI results. Thankfully there were no changes but it was a worrying wait.
I do hope you hear something soon.
I chased my Neurologist secretary as I had been waiting so long.
Ahh well I haven’t had any communication at all, not neurologist letter or appointment or anything so that might be a good sign I guess!
I was referred to neuro start of July by my doctor but had another bad flare up of symptoms so doctor ordered the mri for me as he knows the neuro department will request it and hopefully saving time.
Hope you get your results back soon.
Maybe I should ring the doctors because it was her that got me the mri, not a neurologist. She said she had to ring a neurology hotline and tell them my symptoms and they told her I needed one. So as far as I know it’s just her/my doctors surgery that I can get in touch with.
The waiting is sooooo hard!
It’s been 5 weeks now and today the doctor said that my mri hasn’t even book looked at yet.
Mine took 5 weeks only found out as neurologist told me at my appointment on Monday, my gp has the results but stil hasn’t looked at them
I’m not under a neurologist at all so I think I’m pretty much on my own until the MRI gets looked at by someone at the hospital.
It was my doctor who ordered the mri so it’s my doctor who has tell me the results according to neurologist
Ah ok. Well hopefully my doctor will know the results soon enough. Just want to know what’s wrong with me!
10 years ago when I was being assessed the wait seemed to be 2-3 weeks. So with current NHS strain I’d say the wait you have had is to be expected. Fingers crossed the results are useful.
Thank you! Yeh I’m just trying to be patient and not think about it but it’s hard to do the more weeks that pass. I think I kinda knew deep down that it would be a long wait though.
