My back is sooo painful that it feels like my brain is shrinking. Now and then(multiple times during the day) I experience a severe stabbing pain in my upper right back(beside the shoulder). The stabbing sensation lasts for about 7 seconds and occurs about every 40 seconds for the duration of about 40mins. The pain is so severe that I can’t empty my bladder, I wake up multiple times during the night.
I have tried Tiger Pain Relief Patches - I still get pain. Paracetamol helps me at least to sleep. Chiropractors used to help with pain for at least a couple of weeks. But now it stopped being effective.
Does anyone know what kind of pain this is? Neuropathic?
I note you have seen a Chiropractor(s) re. the pain; have you consulted a GP? The only times I have had stabbing pains in the upper right (shoulder blade) area are (and please note I have been and always will be a raging tomboy):
Torn muscle(s) in back - numerous times.
Dislocated shoulder and pulled/torn muscles.
Subluxated rib (think very stretchy dislocation) - very unpleasant.
Cracked shoulder blade.
and last, but certainly not least, fatty liver disease which was initially confused for Gallbladder issues - which are possibly more common that the above list. It should also be noted that I was not overweight at the time I was diagnosed with fatty liver - the only symptoms I had were pain in the upper right back area which I thought was one of the above playing up, and my pee was very dark all day no matter how much water I drank - turned out one of the fatty deposits was blocking my bile duct.
You should get your gallbladder and liver checked by your GP.
