Honeymoon

Hi, my fiance and I are getting married next year, but we’re having problems deciding on a honeymoon destination. I have multiple sclerosis and I’m in a wheelchair. Because of my MS I can’t stand anywhere to be too hot, but would still like some sun! I can’t sit on a plane for longer than a couple of hours (2 and a half tops) as I get too achy. I would also need a wet room with a seat. Can’t be hilly either! Please help, thanks.

Have you thought about a cruise you could depart from a British port, I imagine indoors would be air con and outdoors a nice sea breeze. Never been on a cruise so just guessing.

We’ve considered a cruise, love the idea, but the price tag puts us off lol. Would definitely love to do one if we could get a good deal (Don’t mean to sound tight haha)x

Not tight at all getting married is an expensive business. One of the problems of being disabled is all the planning we need to do regarding a holiday. A friend of mine goes on cruise holidays they book a year in advance to make sure of getting a disabled room. Whatever you decide I’m sure it will be fantastic.

Best wishes

Thank you xxxxxxx

Hi , I’m taking my first cruise this week and need lots of disabled gear, as I am also a full time wheelchair user, who needs a profiling bed, portable hoist and shower chair/ commode. It costs £350 to hire them. Depending on where and how long you cruise for, there are some not too expensive deals.

Do you fancy Wales? I’m going to The Esplanade hotel Llandudno, in June. They have all the kit I need.

Have a great time! You’ll have to let me know how it goes.

Llandudno is quite close so would like to go further afield.

Does anybody else have any other ideas please?? xx

Over the years - there has been a few people who say how well they felt on holiday in Lanzerote. This might be too far for you to fly. My daughter was a bridesmaid at her friends wedding on Lanzerote last year. She said the hotel would be perfect for me with my mobility problems. lt is not humid - so a nice comfortable temp.

Thanks for the suggestion. I believe it’s a lovely place, but even in the winter it’s too hot for me. I can’t deal with the heat when it hits the north of England haha xx

Hi Sarah , have you thought of Jersey ? The Channel Islands are beautiful and it’s just over an hours flight.

our daughters lived there for ten years and I used to love going , sadly it’s more difficult now as my M S have progressed .

try booking .com or late rooms you can sometimes get a good deal.

where ever you go have a lovely time.
