help! has anyone else been changed to ESA but not received payment?

i got a letter saying that i was being changed to ESA, my body is sufficiently buggered at this point that they don’t even need to see me. great! i thought, at least i don’t have to worry about that. WRONG! my last incapacity ben. payment was on the 27th december. so i’ve just gone online to my bank to see how the new payment looks on my statement, and it’s not there. i’ll obviously be phoning up first thing on monday, but can anyone tell me if they’ve had any kind of similar experience, i’m panicking here, what’s happening?

thanks.

Did you fill in the ESA50 and then get the letter saying you had been given ESA without a medical?
This happened to me too but they also rang me and explained how the payments would work. IB was paid once a month (every 4 weeks) but ESA is once every 2 weeks. If you got your last IB on the 27th of December ESA will not be due until the 10th. I would have expected it to be in your bank by now.

Don’t panic it’s probably just a little glitch which you will be able to sort out with a phone call.

I don’t mean to sound insulting…because I’ve done this myself Have you looked at your actual balance? At the weekends my payments don’t show up untill a working day. xxx

thanks for your replies, i didn’t need a medical, my letter says i’ve been put on the ‘support’ type of ESA and that it’ll be paid every 2 weeks (my IB payments have always been every 2 weeks too and DLA every 4 weeks). i seriously doubt that the fact that i officially switched benefits as of 31/12/2014 won’t have been a factor. i’ve checked again and still no joy. most of the time my phone is on silent (because when i try to get to a ringing phone i tend to fall, carrying the damn thing with me when it has an incoming call makes me jump out of my skin if and if it’s on vibrate it feels like an electric shock. god i sound pitiful!

i’m not at all insulted by your question, blossom, i’ve gone anon because i feel like a pitiful, penniless prat, unfortunately, it isn’t that it’s not registering yet, it just isn’t in. i’ve never known any other benefit payment to be even a day late, so i’m a bit bewildered. ah well, thanks again.

xx

Mine have been late in the past anon so don’t worry. Give them a ring tomorrow if it’s hasn’t gone in. You maybe penniless anon…lots of people are. You are not a prat…that’s a negative word…it’s not allowed lol  Hope it gets sorted quickly

re; my ESA…allelujah! it’s been paid in, better late than never. thanks again for the help.
