Heebie jeebie jitters!!

Ok I am currently still undergoing tests with Neuro appt next Monday (so looking forward to that!!) however my muscle spasms that I had 6 months ago then went after about 5 weeks are back with a vengeance! due at gp tomorrow morning and just needing advice as to how much to say. I have loss of sensation and strength in whole right side plus a number of other typical symptoms. ot, physio and gp all thinking ms just trying to get answers from Neuro. with the muscle spasms I have eye lid twitching, shudders and a flailing arm as spasms are round shoulder and neck, it was lower back hip and leg last time :frowning:

Do I just stick with immediate spasm problem with gp and throw the rest at Neuro again or will I get further with gp as struggling so much with fatigue and nerve pain too. been dragging on as so many experience but getting to breaking point :frowning:

thanks in advance

Katie

Hi Katie, my GP was often at a loss as to what to prescribe for my pains and spasms. i do think your neuro needs to know everything, so he can have a cler picture of what`s going on.

Ask him/her about pain relief and spasticity/spasm relief.

The meds which help me are amitriptyline for nerve pain (and it REALLY works) and baclofen for spasms and stiffness. That one is harder to get used to and to find the right dosage for you. it varies from person to person.

Good luck with the neuro appt. Write a list of symptoms and questions, but try tpo keep it fairly brief.

Let us know how you get one, yeh?

luv Pollx

Hi Katie I’m on amytrip and as Poll says, although its still early days, I can feel a difference. Hopefully things will continue to improve on it…!! Fingers crossed. Good luck xx

thanks folks, I’ll see what’s said tomorrow. On top of appt tomorrow and Neuro next week, now have occ health next tues! Wouldn’t mind but was only requested due to length of time off work with chest infection, nowt to do with neuro stuff!! what a fun filled week ahead!
