Heavy legs ? Relapse

Hello everyone

hope you are all keeping well.

I got diagnosed with MS in 2017 after an MRI scan that was requested by my GP.

at the time my consultant said that my MS was not active therefore they would not need to treat it with any medication. From the day I was diagnosed with MS I was also prescribe gabapentin for leg pain.
may 2020 I got a new consultant and he suggested I start on an injection that is taken every 2 weeks, he said this should help keep me as it is.
min 2020 I started to feel dizzy and felt as I could not keep my balance and would need to sit after not standing for long, I was told this did not sound like MS. I went private and was seen by an ear specialist who ran tests on me the whole day and said that my ears where there cause and they are not balance which is causing dizziness and imbalance. I have since then started to do home exercises which the physio told me to do. They said due to the MS it may take a while (up to 3 months) to even see a slight improvement. It’s been 2 months still nothing.

but now it has been two weeks and my legs feel heavy, when u walk is as if I’m drunk or severely disabled.
Is this a relapse? Or is it something that will never go away?

I have also started a gluten free dairy free diet this week, in hope that this will help too as I hve read many good things, I’m up for trying anything.

thanks to anyone who will respond

I would contact your health care team. Like me right now my legs feel heavy and wobbly and really hard to even step with out putting a lot of thought in to it. Call your Ms support team and book an appointment. It’s better to get it looked at sooner rather then later.

I have spoken with one of the MS nurses she said they will have a look at the MRI I had 2

weeks ago, but I’m still waiting.

have you had heavy legs for a long time?

No I’ve had ms for 10 years the closest thing to heavy leg i have had is re learning to walk which i am going through right now. Until last week I’m avid runner. I would find out what your ms nurse suggests do it plus go for physio. Physio is a huge help.
