I don’t know if you have heated car seats over there, but I had my first experience with them this week when I had to replace my old car. My hip was stiff and achy from a combination of stress and cold weather (father died of Covid earlier this week, and the unfriendly stepfamily buried him in a hurry before family could get here). I could barely walk, even with a cane, and the pain was so excruciating that I couldn’t get comfortable and have only been getting about 2 hours’ sleep a night.
Anyway, I was meeting up with some of the out-of-town relatives today, and after hobbling to the car (I rarely ever drive any more) I decided to try out the heated seats. Honest to God, but within 10 minutes I felt 90% better. At the end of a long day, I used the heat again on the way home, and I was able to toss my cane aside and am pain-free for the first time in nearly a week!
I told Mum that the next time I’m dealing with this kind of discomfort, I’ll go sleep in the car for a while. It’s so much better than the electric heating pad I’ve tried at home.
First experience of them was when riding in a friends car she turned the heat on without me knowing she even had heated seats - thought i had wet myself for a few minutes! But very nice and heated steering wheel sounds great
I wouldn’t have a chance. As soon as my neighbors saw me sitting in the car without moving, they’d come running over to check on me!
My boy’s car broke down a while back, so he parked it in my driveway. One night while I was still working, its lights went on all by themselves. When the neighbors saw that, they came over and looked all around the house and yard to make sure I hadn’t fallen and needed help. They’re the greatest!
Heated seats & steering wheel a must when ever I’ve changed my cars.
Theres an option on ours to heat just the seat (bum bit) or the rear lumbar as well, so you get the heat coming through your back as well, its really good.
Take a tip though :
If you have leather seats make sure your “feed” the leather otherwise in time they will split/crack from drying out…
I’m a bit of a petrol head when it comes to cars ect ect .
If your car doesn’t have factory fitted heated seats you can buy plug in heated seat cushions fairly cheap .
Hahaha I love this post. Yes heated seats work miracles… I got a new car this year not only do I have heated seats it has a heated steering wheel lol. 1st world problems. Honestly though the heated seats are amazing for me,. Also got a Hot tub 2 years ago for hydrotherapy and after any sort of day the relief for me is fantastic.
Fortunately I’m an electrician, so the wiring part wasn’t an issue. It was the crane to hook it round our house into the garden that was a nightmare lol and yes you home insurance will.cover a hot tub through the roof.
