Over the past few weeks been experiencing heart palpitations, feeling like my heart is trying to jump out of my chest. Gp wants me to have ECG. Anyone else experienced these and if so what treatment?

Hi Bren,
I know exactly what you mean when you say you feel like your hearts about to beat out of your chest, I get this feeling from time to time. When I went to the GP about this he said I was having panick attacks (this was pre ms dx) so I don’t know if this a symptom. I also have a small hole in my heart, which in my mind could be something to do with it. At least you have an ECG coming up and hopefully that will shed some light on it for you.
I’m really sorry if I’ve caused you more worry putting ideas in your head.

Good to ‘talk’ to you again!
I had bad heart palpitations, mostly at night, but the Consultant in the pain clinic said it was due to the Amitriptyline I was taking. I’ve now come off it.
I see you’re on that drug too, but, if you’ve been taking it for a while maybe you would have had the palpitations before now.
Just thought it was worth a mention.
