Hi, I have read a lot that eating healthy ie no meat, sugars helps slow down ms progression and symptoms, has anybody found this to be true ? Or is there any particular diet that does help ?
I have yo-yo dieted for eons…losing and gaining the same stones!
I dont think whatever I eat makes a difference to my MS.

Getting RRMS was (as far as I know) out of my control. However, once diagnosed, I could, and did make lifestyle changes. I’ve been vegetarian for nearly a year and my dairy intake is limited. I never had much MS fatigue before, but now it is non existent, I believe this is down to these exclusions. I’ve never smoked and very seldom touch alcohol, I exercise regularly and try to be the best version of me that i can. Thus far it seems to be working. I’m not saying any of this is right for everyone, but it’s right for me, right now.
Not sure if it helps MS, but a good diet will improve general health and that has to be a good idea. Take a look at the OMS diet and see if it’s likely to suit you. Best keep a food diary too.
Hi, since January of this year I decided to eat a low fat diet and try to lose some weight, as it had ben going on slowly, nothing to do with MS, or symptom management, just wanted to feel better, to date I’ve lost 15lbs and no difference in my MS.

My version of ‘healthy eating’ - and there are many definitions, often mutually contradictory - is in line with Prof G on the Barts Blog. This post, worth reading in its own right, also links through to his very good ‘Medium’ piece.
