having a duvet day

Good morning pals!

Decided to have a duvet day today. Yesterday was manic at our house. We had a faux Christmas Day/ youngest granddaughter`s 4th birthday party. Yes it was good, but i was whacked at the end of it and went to bed at 4pm…yes, they had all gone by then. They know I dont perform well after tea-time.

After everything thats been chucked at us these last few weeks, I reckon ive earned a day off.

In October, I received my diagnosis after 14 years of angst. But even so, it`s an incomplete one ie

spastic paraparesis…cause unknown. I`ve finally put it to bed and accept I will probably never know what has caused my spinal cord damage.

Then last month i saw a different GP to my regular one, who told me I may lose my legs as they were cold and blotchy…utter tosh, as a district nurse got me some support stockings and they have cured the problem!

Then there was the crisis at home, when hubby couldnt walk and was using my wheelie. Daughters arrived and suggested i go into a nursing home, to give him a break! Ta very much for that girls!

Social services were informed of our problem and came to re-assess my needs…ended up telling me i could lose my existing care package. Cheers for that.

Next problem is a bad toenail. looks like they are gonna whip it off…that`s ok, as long as that quack GPs words dont come true!!! I go to foot doc on Tuesday!

So, do I deserve my duvet day? I reckon so!

Have you tried tea tree oil on the toe,it worked for my toe.yes you deserve a duvet day, i am sick of duvet days,been having duvet months,myself lel.

My duvet day has been a duvet day disaaaaaster daaaaahling!

Just had to sling and hoist up pretty darn quickly…I have emptied my bowels for England!!! I neeeded 2 showers and then more wiping up…sorry if you are about to have your lunch…and to think i needed movicol earlier this week!

Hi jaki, only had the iodine dressings the district nurses and podiatrist put on it. Oh and germolene which my hubby swears by.

Pod lady said she thinks it will need to come off as it is so crumbly. Then she said she will put some crystals in the nail bed, to stop it growing. She reckons it will never grow properly and always give me trouble.

I haven’t been on the computer for a few days, so have missed your

post, but reading the above let’s me know what a dreadful time you have

been having, so sorry to hear this.

Surely SS can’t cut your hours for help down, how can they do that? It’s

not like you will suddenly have a miraculous recovery, what a cheek, but

also very worrying for you all. Hope it gets sorted soon for you.

Hi Pam, well as non - sensicle it sounds to us mere mortals, it seems the powers that be are in a position to cut our existing services and we can do sod all about it. I dont have the strength to fight it.

So we have to carry on the best way we can.
