Groin infection

Hi folks - I have quite an annoying groin infection (jock rot) shower regulary, dry properly, apply a medical talc powder etc and have tried sudacreme - was at the GP previously and they said it was skin tags. Using google Dr this can be more prevalent in folks with a compromised immune system - just wondering, if any of you guys out there had issues with sweat rashes or whatever - TIA

I hadn’t heard that, but had heard that skin tags can thrive when there’s insulin resistance or other signs of metabolic trouble like higher-than-fashionable BP, waist measurement etc. Which means most of us of a certain age of course…

Guess that all adds up to be fair - thanks for that - will ring gp and see what they say again

When I first saw your post @Redman I thought what has that got to do with MS. But I read on and then thought - oh crap ! I have two skin rashes in the last few weeks in that area but didn’t relate it to MS at all.

Just bloody brilliant hey !

Had issues with sweat rashes my whole life.

Cool showers, thorough drying - sometimes using paper kitchen towel after towelling off, or using the hair dryer on a cool setting to be absolutely dry before applying talc.

Thanks - much appreciated

Try a hydrocortisone cream 1% w/v. Has worked for me in the past.

If they’re saying it’s a sweat rash why hasn’t the doctor prescribed an anti fungal cream like canastan , you may find the talc is just feeding the fungal infection . Sudacrem will feed it, as it’s to greasy and won’t allow the skin to breath. Try to wear cotton underwear, rather than synthetic material.
