hi all I was wondering if anyone else suffers from bouts of reoccurring Thrush I’m not on any meds n not dx but Iive read on some website or other that there is a poss link between MS n thrush esp in a relapse when the immune system is at it’s most active I would like ur views on this if u wouldn’t mind Thanx Lou 
It’s never been a problem I’ve had anyway. I do get cystitis a lot but that’s it.
I had thrush once or twice and the one thing my GP did say was that my partner had to be treated too because otherwise we just would end up passing it back and forth.

Yes, it’s something I get a lot and my GP has tried me with every treatment possible, but now use natural treatments only.
Where have you read that it is linked to MS?

Hi Lou, I can relate to this, not so much thrush these days but not so nice weird things that I have a steroid cream for when I have flare-ups. Not diagnosed but this all started during the neurological phase of everything! Sam x
Thanx for ur input ladies I’m not sure which website it was tbh lol I just googled thrush in MS n clicked on the first 1 "/ I’ve suffered on/off for yrs 2/3 times a yr same as replaspes but I don’t know why I even thought there could be a link just courious I suppose glad I’m not on my own lol Lou xx
It is not just the women on here who have this problem. Im slightly embarassed to say i have too.
I have seen a dermatologist 3 times in the last 18 mnths for this exact problem, i get swabbed and have been told the same thing every time. Balantis/candida. Very severe cases aswell that took an age to clear. He gave me on separate occasions trimovate/flucanazole/eumovate and something else which i cannot remember.
Ive sufferred with dermatitis all my life but over the last 2 years its been was than ever for flare ups. Getting patches of inflamed skin on different parts of my body.
His words were it is my immune system having to work overtime causing the problems.

Sorry but my mind works in a strange way and this topic just reminded me of a conversation I had with my dad over christmas. He has a covered passageway to the side of his house giving access from his kitchen to his front drive and back garden which he has now shut off at both ends with doors and which he generally refers to as the ‘back passage’ - maybe that is even the origin of its use as a doctor’s euphemism, I dont know. Anyway, a finch, not a thrush, managed to fly inside when a door was left open, and my dad was unable to free it, I forget why, so he phoned the local RSPCA and the conversation went something like this:
“I wonder if you can help me; a Finch has just flown into my back passage and got itself trapped . . . .”
Needless to say it was met from the other end of the phone with minutes of uproarious laughter and gratuitous requests to repeat it.
Hee hee…that’s just cheered me right up. Here’s another. In court one day, a magistrate asked me if I would be making written representations and I said, " no sir, I can give it to you orally". At which point a colleague leant over and whispered, “that’s very generous of you ma’am” !!! Never forgotten it…neither has anyone else and I frequently get reminded of it. Xx
Haha that made me chuckle mrbobowen & mrsH hehe JW : I wasn’t only aiming at the ladies so I’m pleased u felt able to join in I to suffer with odd patches of skin atm my hands are peeling, well my fingers to be exact they look like they’ve been covered with pva glue that is peeling off and no amount of moisturiser even touches it and trust me I’ve got pretty much 1 of everything including prescribed lol Lou comforting in a strange way to know we’re all mad as & falling apart all the same lol
I’m gibberish mad…I recently told a friend, who had put her back again, to go see the astrologist that I use and how good he is. Despite her raised eyebrows, I was adamant that my astrologer would sort her out in no time !! When I gave her his business card with his name and “registered osteopath” on, she nearly wet herself. Xx
