Gp / hospital

Hi all ,

I just wanted some advice really. Before Christmas was my first symptom where I couldn’t feel the right hand side of my body , I went to A&E after a 111 call to be told it was a trapped nerve and to speak to the gp so I did .

Back MRI scan came back clear ,MRI head scan showed 1 lesion on the left hand side of my brain. The test was repeated a month later in April and this report shows there was infact 2 lesions which were not on the first MRI report I was only told about 1 and I also have a new lesion now so 3 in total.

Neurology referral was completed in march and I have an appointment in June , GP re referred me due to the new lesion within the month appearing on the MRI and they have also requested another MRI.

Today I have ended up in a&e again from advice from the gp. I have pain in my neck head and back and my ear feels like it has pressure as well as my right arm being weaker. The hospital have released me with co codamol and told me it’s muscular.

Has anyone had similar experiences? Should I be doing anything more ? Any help would be appreciated but from reading other stories on the forum the diagnosis stage isn’t the easiest!

Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear you’re having symptoms at the moment and mri showing lesions.

Glad you have a neurology appointment booked in - hopefully they can give you some clarity and let you know next steps asap!!

I would say if any new symptoms appear or your current ones get worse (depending on what symptoms are) to go back to GP, call 111 again or go a&e… being in a similar position not long ago it didn’t speed up the process for me but it did mean that everything was on record which was useful in appointment. If they notice anything needing serious quick attention I would like to believe that they would have done so and hopefully will be the case for you.

I know this probably doesn’t sound like practical advice but try to rest & relax as much as you can - listen to your body if it’s needing to take it easy for a bit.

Hope your appointment rolls around quickly and you can get some help!!
