Hi, just wanted to let you know Frazer (assistance dog) is doing really well following his operation on Thursday. The first day he was feeling very sleepy, i was a bit worried because he didn’t want to go for a wee for about 24 hours but hes perked up again and is beginning to be more like his old self. They had to take away quite a big section of his chest apparently golden retrievers are prone to cysts, they often benign but they said his did look a bit suspect so its being sent away. I’ll know in a few days hopefully it will be okay, but the vet said they’d taken it all to make sure. He keeps giving me the sad eyes, i put an old tee shirt of Lee’s on him he looks so cute!
As Frazer is a Golden Retriever I bet that he is milking everything he possibly can from this. Lots of cuddles and treats?
I have a Goldie and a Chocolate Labrador and there is nothing you could teach them about turning on the big sad soleful eyes if there is a biscuit in it for them
Hope everything comes back fine and Frazer is back to top form very soon.
I hope the results are okay, the original biopsy was okay but the vet said he was concerned by the appearance of the growth when he operated… so i should know in a few days, i’m not stressing about it theres no point and like he vet said , he’s a young dog in good health and they’ve taken everything away. I have to say iv’e missed our walks, without him by my side i’m house bound, as i wouldn’t feel confident going out in my wheelchair without him.
Thanks for your message, yeah he’s a typical retriever, milking it for everything he can get, I don’t mind I love him so much,
He’s turned my life around, we go everywhere together…He’s allowed in all the shops, cafes, cinema anywhere I go…Im at my church most Sundays and he sits on his blanket next to me. So we are both grounded for a week.
Good news for Frazer. He’ll soon be up and about. I hate it when our pets are ill. Our Seymour’s just got over having stitches in his head. That’s fighting tom cats for you!
Thanks everyone for your messages, i’ve just got a phone call from the vet, they sent his biopsy from the opp away and the good news is that its completely benign. Hes had a bit of an infection so he’s on antibiotics, but he’s a lot brighter, We can’t go out for at least another week…we are both going crazy but I’m sure it will soon pass.
Thanks Pat and Dickie, Frazers feeling much better, although we are still stuck in for another week, its funny there are days when i really don’t have the energy or inclination to go out …but now because we can’t go out I feel trapped.
Thanks for your kind message Pam, Frazers feeling much better. He loves the fuss and pampering that he’s getting, but hates having to wear Lee’s sock on his foot nearest to the scar…we caught him having a secret scratch!
Well done Frazer. Now, stop scratching and get better, your Mum needs you!
Bert (my chocky) and Daisy (my Goldie) are very relieved - they have had their paws crossed for a good result for Frazer since I told them! Woofs all round.
We took him out in the car the other day…actually we went to the cinema to see Spector the new James bond film but any serious work like walking into Frodsham or going places on the train would still be too much for him. He loved seeing Spector he thought it was fantastic! The wheelchair place is right at the front of the cinema so we all had a good view.
