Hi everyone I forgot to order my new needle bin and mine is just about past the mark. Do I have to phone the company that deliver it or will my local chemist manage to give me one and dispose of the old. My friend is a nurse at my docs she thinks I should be able to give them the bin and get one from them. Would that be right enough? X
Hi Em My local chemist quite happy to dispose of my sharps bins. I would think that they would have a spare one to give you. If not I would pour some used needles into a Tupperware box and securely close and put away so you can continue to use current bin. Then order 2 or even 3 bins next time. Pour Tupperware needles into one … Min xx
Hi Your local GP should be able to supply & collect sealed bins. Ask for a travel bin to keep as spare if short of room in case of future need. Regards Neil
My dad who has diabetes , just goes to dispensary to get them, they seem to just hand them out no problems to anyone, even if someone goes for him , no questions asked
Thanks everyone I have a travel bin which I didn’t think to use as it’s for ‘travel’ lol. My mum often wonders how I managed to get a degree. They were short on common sense the day I was born lol. X
I didn’t realise I could get one that way I asked the delivery company for mine first time I needed a replacement. Where do you request the travel bins from? This site is so useful Barney
Hi Barney, Request travel bin from delivery company. Min xx
I called health at home yesterday and was told they did not have any travel bins in stock at the moment? Seemed strange as the injections and sharps bins go hand in hand don’t they? Will try my local pharmacy, Thx for the advice Sue
