Hi, I have had pain in the arches of my feet for over a month now. Just trying to decide whether to go to drs who may say its probably an ms thing and send me away. Cos I have constant tingling and burning in my feet my neuro would say its not a new symptom. But for me its one I don’t like. Any one else have experience of this? Thanks Lynn
Hi
I don’t have exactly the same but similar, I get awful crippling pain at the back of my arch, towards my heel - feels like my heel bone is about to push through my skin. Considering myself whether to bother GP or MS nurse with it as got leg/neck pain too. Had it for a week now and not gone away so guess I would call it a new symptom, although have had prev numbness in feet and spasm in big toe, like you, I think the Consultant might say it isn’t.
Not found any over the counter meds that will help - just tried some Gabapentin. What helps yours?

I’m taking pregabalin. I’m taking 400mg a day. I’ve found that if I increase anymore I become a zombie. I try massaging them but I’ve not found anything that takes it away. I had the heel pain for months. Its kind of what got me diagnosed. I saw a locum who said quite abbrasively “what do you expect me to do? Refer to your neuro?” So I said yes. My neuro said it wasn’t a new symptom but did an mri anyhow. It showed more lesions so that diagnosed me. The heel pain went eventually but my feet constantly burn/ tingle. Warm water helps but it’s not practical for at work. Hope your pain goes soon. Good luck with the gabapentin. Lynn
Hi Lynn
I find gentle stretching helps with mine as it seems to be that the muscles just tighten up due to the MS. Foot and leg pain was a big problem with my relapses last year and stretches twice a day was the only thing that helped in the end as the physio’s waiting list was too long. She eventually got to me 6 months after I was referred!
