Hi all, I’m new to this, so forgive me if I say anything wrong or stupid. I have recently been kind of diagnosed, in that I have been told I have mild ms, but that is only looking at my head problems. Now to start from beginning, in 2011 I had an optical neuritis episode which lasted 3+weeks, meaning I went through MRI screening finding a lesion on my brain and one on my spine. Hospital had all on record, but i wasn’t explained to about what this could mean, should have been given a neurology follow up app next year but wasn’t. Now back to it, this year after changing dr’s I have been sent to neurologist and another MRI app, where they found more lesions on my head, but hadn’t done a body one. I’m now waiting for the MRI with contrast dye and lumbar puncture appointments to come through. I’m worried as I feel my biggest problems have always been body rather than head, as remembering back my first symptom was numbness in the top of my leg that travelled up to my chest (horrible episode) and I get reoccurring episodes of banding pressure in my chest. I also experience numbness in bottom of legs, chronic back pain and constant need to go to toilet, with numerous problems each way in that area. Just worrying and would appreciate anyone else’s input into what you think I should expect, and whether it may be more than mild ms. Thanks again.
Hi Monty, Over the years I have suffered with severe back pain…the worst pain…amitriptyline stops buttocks and thigh pain but not the back pain. Recently I got a new wheelchair back support cushion and oh, is it lovely to have no back pain anymore! So check your posture and any support cushions. As regard the other problems, Im not sure the word
mild applies, as you have a few things going on. Discuss DMDs with your MS nurse or neuro and if they would slow down the progression. Bladder urgency might be helped by meds such as Betmiga......it
s the best I ever had and I tried a few. xxx
Sorry only just getting back Boudica405…this site not letting me post. I’ve started writing everything down, even little things and then hopefully get to bottom of things soon enough. Thank you again for your advice, means allot xx
