hi guys n gals hope every1’s as good as can be today I finally managed to get hold of my neuro’s receptionist this afternoon to chase up my pending appointment it won’t be until Jan 21st!!! But I can keep calling for a cancellation if I feel the need Now my predicament is do I ask my GP to sign me off for another week or do I return to work on Monday??? I’m not dx atm I spoke to my boss yest evening n she was wanting to know if was planning on returning on Monday or not, I did explain that I’m having to use a stick if I walk for more than a few mins at a time as my balance is still slightly off the further I go that n my right leg is still odd to say the least I’m a skl caterer so my job means standing n walking a lot so I guess I’m just answering my own question lol but the guilty feeling of letting them all down and the fact that even tho I have zero energy even after climbing the stairs to go to the bathroom I still miss my job n the children "/ hey ho lol Lou
Hi lou, well seeing as your job is in a busy and somewhat risky environment, i would think your manager would not want to put you in a dangerous situation.
if your gp wants you to stay on the sick longer, then that`s what you should do hun. Tell him exactly how you feel.
When I first went on the sick, I also felt I was letting people down.
we hardly enjoy feeling so rough, do we?
luv Pollx
Hi Poll I know what u mean, my boss did say she didn’t really want me back until I was able to work again unaided but u no how it is when ur in limbo n feel like every1 thinks u could be “putting it on” hell I even question myself some days lol "/ I’ve just been for a walk (wobble/hobble) round the shop which I could normally do there n back (on a good day) in about 10/15mins today it took me 40mins with a crutch n now my leg is “buzzing” even more not a good sign I’m guessing lol think I’ll try the dr again 2moro n explain that because I’ve already been signed off for a week I now can’t go ‘Self Cert’ hopefully they’ll be understanding even of they’re not prepared to give me anything to help Thanx again Poll I hope ur well today Lou x
Blimey Lou - you definitely cannot go back to work. What if you have an accident and injure yourself or injure someone else. Your boss should certainly believe your assessment that you shouldn’t go back. Have they not seen the adverts on tv?- “had an accident at work …”!!! You really must get a sick note or fitness to work note whatever they call it now from your GP. Make sure that they type on your notes your concerns. I’m getting suspicious of whether GPs always accurately record things on my notes. So last time I saw a doctor I typed out a brief summary and requested he put it on my notes. Whether he did or not !!! Supportive hugs Min xx
Hi Min I went back to the docs this morning and he’s signed me off for another 2 weeks in the hope that 1: I’ll feel strong enough n stable enough to return to work or 2: that I mite be able to get a cancellation for the neuro so we can get the ball rolling so to speak Lou x
Hi Lou, I know how you feel bout work- I have been off for 12 weeks now…but if it is ms, putting yourself under stress and pressure will only exacerbate the symptoms so try and relax and indulge yourself with rest. Catherine
