film

i watched a film last night called “x & y”.

it was about an autistic boy who won a maths competition and was flown out to Taiwan to compete in the final.

his teacher and the boy’s mum went too.

the teacher had MS and the actor playing him did an excellent job of portraying ms.

so it was a storyline covering 2 big interests of mine.

back in the days when i was a primary school teacher, i loved working with autistic kids.

of course MS is so pigging relevant too!

good film!

Hello, thanks for the insight, I will look out for that film it sounds like a good watch.

If you have Netflix there is a film on there called 100 Metres at the moment and it is all about a chap who is diagnosed with MS who decides to take on a form of exercise to help with his MS. The film is in Spanish so you may have to watch with subtitles. The film is brilliant at portraying the struggles the guy faces with MS, its also pretty funny in places to with regards to the relationship with his Father-in-law.

Is it on netflix? Or what was it on? I`ll look out for it.

I’ve found it on youtube, might watch it sometime, x

yes. it was youtube!

thanks

so I did find the trailers on youtube, but I can’t find the full film in English, catwomanCarole58 give me a clue ?

Thanks Jean x

sorry, hubby recorded it on the upstairs telly and my brain is on a go slow!

i’ll check upstairs telly and let you know in the morning!

only got about 5 minutes run time left!

Great little film that. I’d watch anything with Sally Hawkins and Eddie Marsden in them. Then add in maths (I did a Maths degree) and MS, and it’s a safe bet I’d enjoy it. I thought Rafe Spall did a realistic job of portraying MS too.

But where did you find the full film he_funk ?

It was on telly last year, so I recorded it. But you can rent it on Amazon Prime. Or you can be old fashioned and buy the dvd  Dan

Thanks, I’ve got it again on youtube, but only with a small screen, so I’ll see how I go with that.
