Feel like Pinocchio!

Hi, Happy Friday!

I’m feeling quite stiff and wobbly in my legs so far today, particularly the right leg.

Does anyone else ever feel like there’s a tight string from their body to their leg limiting their leg movements? - that’s the best way I can describe it!

Maybe I just need the chiropractor but any ideas before I part with my cash? Thanks, Dx

Hi Deb, I understand what you mean. I am so stiff sometimes it is like I’m the tin man from the Wizard of Oz. Maybe neurophysio would be better than seeing a chiropractor. Hth, Teresa xx

Baclofen would be even cheaper. Have you tried that?

Hi Deb,

I know what you mean too. I’m currently seeing a neurophysio for help with my leg issues, wobbling and balance. I also have a chiroptactor (who’s my God!..lol…) but I’m with Teresa on this one - trying physio first may be a better option. Why don’t you ask to be referred?

I’m not sure what meds you’re on but that might be a route to consider too.

Debbie xx

Hiya - do you have to be really bad to go to a neurophysio and what do they do?? I’m on gabapentin.

Not sure how to describe how I am really - some leg muscles feel tight and achy like they have cramp after-effects and warm. I buzz continuously. Two toes feel like they’ve got sock cotton wound round and round them.

I can walk and I’ll start off thinking I’m just fine, what am I making up and then get achy and wobbly and then it’s a real effort. When I walk on the flat again after going upstairs I’m like a drunk for a few moments. Maybe they’re right, maybe it is functional because surely I wouldn’t be able to walk ok for a bit and then find it hard or sometimes walk for ages even if it is an effort? All so bizarre - I used to walk for miles and miles without thinking about it through the woods, over the hills, along the beach etc so very annoying indeed.

Draining isn’t it - all the jerks and tiredness and leg probs etc! xx

Hi

debc we are all different and i dont think it matters how severe or mild your symptoms are to see a neurophysio. Speak to your consultant and they will refer you.

Seeing a neurophysio has been good for me, she works on building your strength and helping with my balance issues.

I understand how you feel i dont think there are two days my legs /body ever feels the same but just one of those things we have to learn to cope with.

Draining definatley especially when no one else can physically see anything wrong .
