Fatigue and tiredness in daily life

Hi all. I’m 30, been diagnosed with MS in November.. few little things that I notice within myself but overly try not to overthink or put things down to MS.. But lately, I’ve been SO tired and fatigued. Brain foggy and forgetful and I’m honestly so tired during work and then on my days off I’m just sleeping. I don’t know where this tiredness came from and going to have to presume it’s the MS? Wondering if others had this early on and any stories to share similar. Still awaiting my next neurology appt and my DMT referral was sent 2 months ago. Had to reduce my hours in work slightly regarding the tiredness

Hi Dan.

I’m so far diagnosed with Tumefactive demyelination and secondary epilepsy. They tell me that being a bit forgetful now is part of it and, apparently my system has to now work harder to get signals through which causes fatigue. The trouble is, the more I try to fight it, the more tired I get which triggers my seizures. It’s a bitter pill to swallow for anyone that’s always had an active life and career.

Needing to slow down and rest doesn’t make you weak or lazy mate. You’ve been dealt a bad hand and, you now need to pay attention to what your body tells you and, look after it as best you can :+1:

Take care mate.

Jon.

Hi there,

I think fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of MS and it’s certainly something I have much of the time. Sometimes I feel like I hit a wall and suddenly ‘run out’ of energy. It’s hard to manage but I rest as much as I can.

I think there are some resources on the MS Society website about managing fstigue that you might find helpful.
