Hi, does anyone else get the feeling of their face going numb and quite literally eye lids drooping when their tired. My speech slurs. My balance goes and its almost impossible to stay awake. Just wondered if I was the only lucky one who has this.
Hello Tonka, i most certainly experience all of the symptoms your describing as i’m sure many others do. They are classic ms so you are not alone, when i’m physically tired or having one of my “ozzy moments” spaced out and disorientated my speech becomes very slurred and I do ‘drool’ a little if its bad. Also when my fatigue is bad I have to sit with my eyelids closed as its more comfortable that trying to force them. I also can go to sleep without trying or am completely the opposite were my body is overwhelmingly exhausted but my brain is on overdrive. The latter one of the most frustrating things. I also have numbing in my face as well as various other body parts. Very annoying. Its no wonder we get fed up. Hope things improve a little soon Joysee x
Hi Jen. Glad I don’t get the spiders. I hate them. I think its probably a mutual feeling as they probably don’t like that I keep catching them in a glass then dependant on size decide how far away from the house I will take them before I let them go. Sometimes I get the feeling as if there is something creeping underneath my skin. Hi Joysee, sorry that you get this too. I’m constantly afraid that I’ll drop off to sleep for example at a parents evening. I know that at the cinema they dim the lights and hey presto I’m asleep. All my life I’ve felt self conscience. Now with the help of ms I’m either un conscience or feeling self conscience because I do look strange.
Hi Jen. I too get the annoying, creeping, irritating, carry on in my cheeks and jaw line regularly. I also get the feeling that I am being touched with a feather on the inside of my left nostril, never the right. But the feathery tickle is a new symptom so time will tell if it starts in other side. very embarrassing when in social situations as it drives me to distraction and i look like ive a tick and spend all my time flicking the end of my nose. Torture by tickling. Not as nice as it sounds. Joy xx
Hi Tonka
sounds like the result of a good night out! Oh if only, can but dream! One of the first things my colleagues noticed at work was that when I’m tired my speech is slurred.
I work in a primary school and it’s not unusual for me to be found in the staff room having a a power nap when my eyes refuse to stay open!
My balance is generally pretty rubbish but always worse when I’m tired. Took me a while to realise that every time I tried putting on my trousers or socks I was ending up with my face on the floor!(Dread to think what it looks like when I’m trying to put on my undies!!)
I guess I’m one of the lucky ones too!
