Face and neck pain

I have my first appointment with a neurologist in a couple of weeks. I am trying hard to decide which of my many symptoms I want to highlight in our initial meeting.
Something that has been with me for nearly 10 years now is an almost constant one sided face pain. It is a constant dull ache up the left side of my face and can cause pressure like feelings in my ear. I have also noticed a feeling of tightness and restriction in my throat and the top of my chest. Over this past year it has been joined by another fairly constant ache in my eyes which worsens when I read or even just sit and think about anything important. I wonder if this is familiar to anyone else with MS and is it worthy of being a priority symptom. Suggestions would be appreciated

Hi

I don’t have a pain in my face but I do have a slight change to sensation on the right side of my face.
The doctor first thought it could be trigeminal neuralgia.

After MRIs and lumber puncture, they have confirmed MS but the lession found is on the trigeminal nerve causing the numbness.

I would write all the symptoms down and take the list with you.

Why not tell the neurologist about everything ? He/she will know what is significant

Thank you for your response. My mum used to suffer with trigeminal neuralgia and from what I saw of it it was intense but short lived whereas this is a nearly constant ache which varies in intensity, so I’m dubious that’s what it is. I do get something similar in the side of my head from time to time, the pain is so intense it stops me in my tracks but it never lasts long. I appreciate your interest.

Yes I will do my best. I have tried to write a time line of symptoms, highlighting the more recent ones which prompted my doctor to send me to see a neurologist. I just hope he has the time to take the various symptoms into consideration. I appreciate your suggestion.

I dont get any pain just a change of feeling that is there all the time.
