my renewal is shortly due, and I notice it takes about 3 months plus for a decision after esa50 completed. Does this mean payment is completely stopped until a new decision has been made?
You should be sent renewal forms in good time so that there is no interruption in your payments. The DWP don’t wait until your award runs out before they start the renewal process. How long before your current award ends? Have you already received the new ESA50?
