The MRI would have had to have shown lesions for the radiologist to pick up on.
It’s worth asking the consultant/GP if there was mention of anything they seen and it’s maybe not been picked up on.
My MRI showed white matter that given my age could have been naturally occurring. It was after a lumbar puncture that showed banding in my CSF that the lesions were judged to be caused by demyelination/MS.
Do you have any other symptoms apart from the tingling and weak feet?
I can’t speak to the likelihood in your case, but i was given a diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy prior to a second MRI set, a year and change later, that confirmed the damage was getting worse in a way consistent with MS (and then followed a bunch of tests to eliminate everything else it could be) so it’s possible, but there are a lot of other things it could be they will want to eliminate before making the determination out of the blue.
If you want advice, it’s worth mentioning it to your doctor just so they can talk it through with you, They may well have some test result (like the nerve conduction study) that suggests it’s something else or eliminates MS in the running. They don’t talk through everything it isn’t after all or they would be there all day I suppose.
So the formal diagnosis was at the start of this year, my first MRI was a year before that, which was about two years before i started noticing symptoms. It’s a process for all that it’s as maddening as it is to feel like nothing is happening.
