Dry skin patches on face

I take daily vutamin D but i have suffered wuth dry patches on my face for a few years. Does any one else suffer? Any helpful tips?

Hi CBHolloway

I have dry skin; I use a variety of moisturisers/ointments depending on time of year/how dry the skin has become.

For regular day to day, I use Avon - Anew products: Clean face, apply serum then day or night cream. These have worked way better for my skin that a lot of more pricey options.

When I get a stubborn dry patch - I use Bepanthen (its a nappy rash ointment) instead of the night cream, take a blob - enough to cover the tip of your finger to the first joint, and rub between your fingers/hands until it becomes clear (it starts out white) and then press it onto the skin - do not rub as this will irritate the dry skin and make it worse. This was a recommendation from my tattoist who swears by Bepanthen to keep new tattoos moisturised and help them heal well. I noticed that the skin was supple and no signs of patchy dryness, so tried it as a night cream - and it works! I use this when I get a particularly dry patch/patches.

For mass moisturising (rest of the body, legs etc.) I use acqueous cream which is relatively cheap and comes in a big tub - I just plaster it on and give it 10 minutes to soak in.
