Just quick one, i have seen or red somewhere that if you where given DLA for life you will not have to go threw the long process again,any won shed any light on this.

Sorry I’ve read the opposite that if given indefinitely like I have you will still have to reapply and will be sent a letter explaining, read this in the motability magazine this month.
Seems nothing sent from government means what it says on the tin. Its like workers of the past, flog them to death then say they shall have to start working for THEIR pension!
We are all in for a rough ride regardless, apparently the poor have to pay for the recession now because the rich need their income from somewhere and theyre running out of ideas.

If awarded indefinite DLA it does mean for life but with the proviso that you may be asked to be reassessed at anytime. It is possible with some complaints you can improve you may get better or cured as remember DLA is not only for PwMS. I’ve had indefinite DLA for 20 years and never been reassessed.
It is all irrespective really as next year assessment for PIP start and everyone will be assessed.

To confirm Georges post, reassessment starts in October 2013 until 2016 for all claimants except children and adults aged over 64 years of age.

Just to add I’ve had DLA indefinite award for 15 years and recently was sent DLA renewal forms, anyone can be reassessed at anytime whether they have an indefinite award or not.
Hi Neil, I went 60 last month and will not receive my state pension until I am 62.5…I was granted DLA indefinitely, back in 2008. I know I will have to apply for PIP at some point.
It is the IB to ESA transfer which is worrying me more. I have never wished i was older than I am, but now I`m not so sure!
