Dizzyness ? Related to MS

I’ve been experiencing periods of dizzyness, it first started in August where it lasted 4/5 days. It returned last week and I phoned the GP who said it was vertigo and gave me Stemetil to take. Again it lasted about 4/5 days. Less than a week later I’m back to being dizzy again!
Initially I only felt dizzy when I was laying down but now the room spins randomly when im walking or sitting doing nothing.
Should I be contacting my MS nurse?

Thanks x

Difficult to know. Presumably could be a lot of things. If it persists I would try the GP for an in person appointment.
I did have nystagmus (eyes flicking quickly) which is an MS symptom. This knocked my balance for six and I semi fell when getting out of bed. As I was aware of what was happening I did not think of it as dizziness. I did call my MS Nurse and it was assessed as an MS relapse which did resolve itself quite quickly without resorting to steroids.

Never easy to distinguish problems that are directly arising from MS, those that come about because of resultant reduced activity and those that happen to everyone.

I always took the attitude that things resolve themselves eventually. Unfortunately MS doesn’t!

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I was only diagnosed in 2019 and don’t know what symptoms I should and should not be concerned about.

I have regular dizziness and have been diagnosed with visual vertigo which is caused by MS. Treatment is basically eye ‘exercises’ every day which I don’t find practical so I’m basically stuck with it. I find it worse when there’s a lot of ‘visual’ stuff going on around me like busy streets, lots of lighting (restaurants) and supermarkets. I hope you get an answer

Thanks for replying.
I’m still dizzy. GP has switched me from stemetil to betahistine now to try. He has said he doesn’t want to link it to MS until he has ruled out other causes.
I feel that I am mostly dizzy when I tilt or move my head. I can be sitting watching tv and move my head and the next thing the room is spinning.
