Diagnosis - That was quick!!!!!

Hi Everyone

I must have a very different neurologist ffrom most other people on this site as he doesn’t seem to be mucking about when it comes to diagnosis.

Had my MRI done on Thursday afternoon and neurologist saw me this morning. He has said that he doesn’t have the radiologist report from my MRI but on looking at it himself he is confident to go with a diagnosis of ms and has already referred me onto the ms nurse.

Think I saw him for the first time on 25 September where he referred me for MRI. How’s that for a swift diagnosis???

Wow that was super quick!

Sorry that you got the MS dx, but it hopefully will open doors (MS nurse etc) for you.

Hi

I’m not surprised my dx, I was kinda expecting it. All the dx has done is answer the question of what has been wrong with me all these years. Gp has been a waste of time but got to had it to the neurologist, he doesn’t hang around.

Already been referred to the ms nurse and he has also said he’d be happy to prescribe dmd’s if I want them.

Sorry about the diagnosis, but it sounds like you are in really good hands and it must be a relief to finally to be able to name the thing causing your symptoms. I know you were expecting it, but don’t be surprised if it still hits you rather hard at some point soon - take it easy and be kind to yourself and you’ll get through it. Don’t forget the usual “housekeeping”: you need to tell the DVLA and you should check all your paperwork for any critical health clause they might contain. Also - have a look at the msdecisions website to help you choose a DMD. Karen x
