I am as yet undiagnosed with anything although I do admit to being slightly anxious and prone to overthink things.
MS confuses me so much, one minute I am sure I have the symptoms, then I’m not sure if I thinking about them so much I actually make them happen if that makes sense.
The main thing that confuses me is my symptoms come and go. I know MS does this, but in the space of 24 hours? Yesterday my leg was fine, today it is “buzzy” and achey, tomorrow this could well be gone again and not reappear for a few days. It’s the same with my hand. Today that is fine but tomorrow I could have the fuzzy feeling. These aren’t my only symptoms but they all but one happen like this. The only one that is consistent is twitching, (eyelid mainly) not massively but enough to be noticeable.
From what I understand (which isn’t a lot) I thought symptoms would either stay for a few weeks pretty consistently and then improve or go altogether or stay permanently depending on which type you have.
Yes, you are right that symptoms generally don’t come and go that quickly. But at the same time, MS isn’t one disease that’s the same for everyone, MS does what the hell it likes when ever it likes.
You’ve said you’re undiagnosed, but not whether you are having your symptoms checked out. Obviously I am going to tell you to steer clear of Dr Google, but to see your GP and get a referral to a neurologist (if you’ve not done this already).
Even an eyelid that’s twitching constantly is enough of a pain to live with. I know this as it’s something that’s been happening for me over the last week! And I’ve had MS for 22 years, so in a completely different situation! I’m not for a minute suggesting that this is an MS symptom even - I think sometimes it’s just a weird nerve thing.
So I should follow up what’s happening to you. There are other diagnoses that share symptoms with MS, so it’s clearly a good idea to see if there’s a verifiable cause.
Thankyou for taking the time to reply. I did look at google when the eyelid started but stopped when I read that it was either caffeine, stress or lack of sleep or the other end of the scale and something not so nice. It was around that time that the other symptoms started. I honestly cannot remember if I had them before. The twitches have been near on 6-7 months now. I have been referred to a neurologist.
