I am a fan too since about 1969. I did see him live in 1987 but not, sadly in the 70s.
Blackstar is a fine album but my reference was purely biblical. You’ve inspired me to listen to the LP again though.

whilst incubating a virus my m.s. symptoms abate a bit - then the virus kicks in and I feel crap -
it’s as if the cold/flu virus ‘knocks out’ (briefly!) the m.s. symptoms.
Wonder how I’d go on if I was given a virus which took many years to develop.
