Car suggestions for a hoist

I need a hoist to take my electric wheelchair (or maybe scooter).

Any car suggestions welcome please

Don’t like driving cars that are too big

I recently investigated this for my electric wheelchair (In the end we decided to get a WAV but that’s by the by)

I started off by calling motability and getting numbers of 2 or 3 hoist providers. I then rang them to discuss what size of car we would need for my wheelchair + hoist. They were very helpful and made good suggestions.

My problem was that I needed to keep the back seats up for my (potential) grandchildren, which resulted in too large a car for my daughter’s liking. In the end we chose a WAV because it gave us more seats for less car if you know what I mean.

It really is a science choosing the car and the only people who can tell you for sure if hoist and wheelchair will fit are the people who provide them.

We have a hoist for an electric wheelchair - we have a Honda CRV - it allowed us to keep the back seats and we still have some boot space - although not a particularly small car!

I don’t know what your budget is like - but remember, if you have a hoist fitted to a brand new car, then the whole price of the car is VAT exempt. (as the car is deemed to have been adapted for use for a wheelchair user)

Thanks for suggestion but a Honda CR-V looks a little too big for me.

Am also going to look at a Berlingo.

Any other suggestions as to a vehicle that will take a hoist please?
