someone did do 700, but its gone!!! what happened!!! Tracey x
Time warp!!! Tracey x
Well it seems that Tracey has got the prize. Which is??? Why do we care about some arbitrary figure? And yet we do.
Btw Cheery Dragon, I like the sound of your sock collection. All styles for all seasons and moods.
I can only do long or short. Some are a bit thicker than others. But basically I am boring in sock terms. Actually I’m probably just boring. I’m often told (by beloved OH) that I’m unadventurous and that I should embrace change.
Did I tell you that he can be an annoying arse sometimes?
Sue
Noooo Sue, some posts have defo gone missing, like the twilight zone?! sure were on 702,3?!! Only posted cos of these missing, just disappeared, gone!!! I know its wine time but where are they?! Not my prize, but if it is I want blue owl socks, matching of course Tracey xx
Not me. I’m far too busy.
Blast!
Not been as proactive here, as I`ve been buried in paperwork…
No, not PIP, but if it had come at the same time, I wouldve been looking for Beachy Head....or should that be somewhere nearer Yorkshire? Cos had I travelled all the way to Beachy Head, the intention of doin meself in, would probably gone offf and I
d be in the nearest sock shop just for sustinance…oh I`m rambling I know.
But thats what happens when the council suddenly lands a demand that you do 4 years of Direct Payments audit, with no prior warning. The bank statement pile alone is 4 inches thick, carers
copy payslips, and invoices, plus respite payment stuff etc etc etc…then they have to cheek to enclose a thin envelope and ask you to post it back. It would need Fedex`s finest lorry, and burly driver to carry it .
Its done,,,,but I know it doesn
t balance…let the well paid, bright brained council staff wade through it. They should do audits more often, before I`m knee deep in paperwork!
Right back to less complicated matters…who`s socks need a wash?
pollxx
Hi Poll,
Good to have you back. How long have you been taking in laundry?
Allbrick
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside
I do like to live beside the sea … etc, etc
It’s a beautiful day here in Sussex by the sea. And I’ve been out of the house for the first time in about a month that wasn’t to go to a hospital!! We had a trip to the seafront (a vast distance of about 2 miles).
There were loads of people on the seafront. Even some brave souls on the sand building sand castles. I even saw some children without their socks on, tiptoeing into the freezing cold English Channel. Not me, I had slightly thicker than usual socks on. My socks don’t come off in February. I’m not that bonkers.
And Mr Sssue didn’t put a coat on. He’s so tough and manly. Or else the sun was shining and it was warm (especially pushing a wheelchair). He did comment that the ice cream concession wasn’t open, I suspect it would’ve had a great long queue had it been.
And by the way Pollywolly (etc), I think it’s less sock washing and more brain cleaning you need after that’s poxy audit. Still, at least now you can rest up and join in the nonsense again.
Sue xx
its not just "the blue owls"that I have.my sock drawer has lie one’s with a white snowman on them(my grandson loves these, only thing is he insists on pulling them up and down to see the snowman jumping)
then there is the days of the week one’s-Monday to Sunday.then finally 2pair of actual walking one’s(when I did do it) 1says right the other says left.hubby bought them for me.I then said "you taking the p@$& not realising that the actual instep can only be worn on the correct feet.
We are but numbers.
I am Kevin (long time since). Sorry for scaring sue.
blue owls made me think of boobies ( no not those but those odd shaped birds with big blue beaks, the one show was talking about them the other day but then bird died, I was sad)
did anyone watch blue cow? Used to be on a kids programme ages ago…brilliant
Anyone remember Peter Fogg - Brian Fogg’s brother. He was the bearded tractor driver on Trumpton - or was it Camberwick Green. Maybe, it was Postman Pat. lt is about 30yrs ago, someone gave my daughter two guinea-pigs. She called them Peter Fogg - and Nelson. Poor Nelson had lost an eye - so my daughter aged 3 - used to say ‘He is called Nelson - cos he hasn’t got two eyes’. And Peterfogg was said as one word.
Happy Sunday to you all - [ when is pancake day?]
Any day is pancake day
Thanks for the apology Kevin. It did peturb me somewhat. Although I had virtually forgotten about it. So pleased to be reminded!!
I believe actual pancake day is Tuesday. Yippee. I don’t think ours are going to turn out very well. My OH may be a great chef, but he insists on trying to toss them. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Luckily he always cleans the cooker hob.
I have very few memories of childhood TV. So can’t help with Camberwick Green, Trumpton, Postman Pat (may have been after my time anyway) and blue cows (unless Ermentrude was blue? I have vague memories of the Magic Roundabout weirdly). Or in fact boobies. Of any kind.
All I can be certain about ever is food.
Sue
What about the Woodentops? This was a childrens tv programme around the late 50s.....I know.....I
m one of the geriatrics on here…heading for 65…chuffin `ell…I know the original Boudica hailed from around 608AD, but this Boudica wonders how the chuff she got so old!
Age has never been an issue for me, being the youngest of 3 sisters.
But now that I have the lovely Tash as a permanent carer, at 22, she often hasnt a clue what I`m talking about, when I mention my favourite music…eg The Bee Gees, Jimmy Ruffin and Motown!
She`s telling me how she enjoyed Drake in concert last week. Drake? Charlie? Sir Francis?
Eeee innit an interesting world?
And I havent mention sox once!
pollsx
There are three of you !
Peter Fogg is the tractor driver from Greendale Farm - Postman Pat. Had to google it as l haven’t seen my daughter today. She would have remembered. He has a gingery brown beard.
And Poll - you are just a slip of a girl.
[l shall be 70 this year] But only look and feel 32!
I love a pancake (or 10). Favourite is lemon and sugar. Then maybe butter and syrup (golden or maple). I do like American ones, and even like the side order of bacon, but I can’t make those but can manage good old standard ones. Kids love them, I must make some.
love Kevin xxx
Pancake day is the 28th, I remember the wooden tops, vaguely,Bill & Ben. Bagpuss & Trapdoor was the best. I have welsh dragon socks, they play the welsh anthem (badly) bit too much washing me thinks Tracey
Hectors house & The Clangers, they were programmes!!! Tracey
We are pancake twins. I’d always go for lemon and sugar, but there’s a little bit of me who loves maple syrup and bacon.
Yummmmmm,
Sue
