Brain Fog

I understand that everyone thinks their own fish n chips purveyer is the best, perhaps we could settle this whole discussion by suggesting that the first person to kidnap their chippie owners and transport them to the Island can have them as the official chip shop in the IOD.

Fish and chips are a very important issue and we do need to have this sorted.

Hello food fans.

Guess what I’m having tonight?

They look very, very tempting AD, mmmm, sorted tea out tonight (bit of curry sauce on mine methinks & vimto, got to have vimto with chippy tea) xxx

And did you make them with your own fair hands Mr D?

Curry sauce = yuck

Vimto = yuck

Fish n chips = lovely

We have a slightly posh cafe on the seafront (East Beach Cafe) where they do the absolute best fish and chips. And often (but not always - depending on what else is on the menu) they have garlic mayonnaise. A squeeze of lemon, some salt and they are heaven on a plate. And of course they have a license. So a small (more likely large) glass of wine is a perfect accompaniment.

I tried to get some Caribbean Twist from asda didn’t have any … I mean I could go to the effort of rum and fruit juices real fruit etc but instead I just bought white grenanche rose … all together now like those lovely little duckies … bottoms up xxx

Haha glad to hear it silver linings eh Tracey ?? Happy eyes  xx

Bordeaux rosé for me.

Posh Bird.

Skipped the fish & chips, went for the gin instead, with a frozen wedge of lemon & lime, in equal proportions. Ice omitted, I hate watered down alcohol, might partake of an appropriate nibble, but other than that tea tonight is gin, & lots of it.

If I could have I would have let the tyre down as well, would have given great pleasure getting him back again very nice man xx

I’m having my occasional problem with vertigo today. It goes like this:

Day 1. Left ear feels blocked. Tinnitus (high pitched tone) worse than usual, with added roaring sound. Hearing affected.

Day 2. Left ear no longer feels blocked and roaring has subsided. Tinnitus still bad. Vertigo and nausea on waking. Unable to sit up. Lay down and waited for some time. Slept a bit. Vertigo still there on waking again. Managed to sit up very slowly. Made it downstairs one step at a time. Plan to spend the day downstairs not doing much.

Day 3. If this attack follows the pattern of previous attacks, I should be OK tomorrow. It might take till Tuesday if I’m unlucky.

I’ve looked up possible causes for this recurring problem. The attacks are quite widely spaced (months apart) and unpredictable, so there’s no way for my GP to investigate them. Hubby couldn’t understand why I spent time this morning looking up possible conditions that could cause the attacks. He doesn’t appreciate my need to know what’s wrong and what I can do about it. I’ve ruled out labyrinthitis and vestibular neuronitis as my attacks are too short. The best fit I can find on the NHS website is Menière’s Disease. There’s no cure and the recommended treatment pretty much matches what I’ve been doing. It’s not Benign Positional Vertigo - I have that from time to time. This is worse and has nothing to do with head movement.

Tired myself out yesterday with some shopping. Add this vertigo and you’ve got a woman who’s planning a very lazy day. I’d like to have a “poor baby” day, but it seems that only men have those.

With you on this Sue - curry sauce/vimto yuck ----------- but garlic mayonnaise, sea salt, lemon wedges- mmmmmmmmmmm.

ls this Rustington - by the way.

l used to live in Clapham many years ago - worked in Angmering. Now in Worcs.

This most certainly is Rustington. (I live in Angmering!)

Sue

Aw, you deserve a ‘poor baby’ day. It sounds horrible. I’ve had vertigo and it’s nasty. But nothing like what you are experiencing. Perhaps you should be keeping a diary of when these attacks occur, whether there’s any connection with fatigue or whether sometimes you just get them after having a quiet lazy day.

Just because something is unpredictable and doesn’t last for weeks, doesn’t mean you can’t get your GP to help figure out what’s causing it. They just need to get all the relevant information.

Meanwhile, have a nice restful day, poor dear baby Dragon. Perhaps tomorrow you will be feeling more Cheerful.

Sue

Hi Cheerful,

Have you considered the idea that you may have multiple sclerosis?
