I am so lucky I live at Margate and see the sea most days I even count the ships on the horizon and dhave a theory you can always count ten off Margate. I have even got a picture from when Heather and I were courting forty years ago, it was a Boxing Day walk and on the horizon you guessed it TEN SHIPS.
Glad you had a good time I doubt we will have a holiday away this year but enjoy our days out we had a trip out Saturday to see the Lambs and the Blue Bells and had fish and chips in the car. I loved it but spent most of yesterday in bed recovering and all I had done was sit in the car. XX Don
Hi everyone, I too live in a lovely part of the world, aberdeen. Beautiful beach and like nothing better watching boats going in and out of harbour with the added bonus of porpoises and seals. Also an hours drive from royal deeside and balmoral castle where the royals spend their summer hols. We won’t be going away this year as we are selling our house and moving into a rented house until our new flat is ready next year. Stressful times ahead!!! Never mind we have the commonwealth games torch relay to look forward to. It is lovely sitting in your car eating fish and chips especially by the sea. I have always been a cheap date. Magsxxxxx
Mags I don’t envy you moving but it’ll be lovely I’m sure when you’re settled in. To be honest, my budget has always been very tight bringing up a child on my own with no maintenance and a mortgage to keep up with so we’ve had very few holidays but we have lovely days out, often taking picnic lunches so all we pay for is fuel, parking and an ice cream. It doesn’t take much to make me happy and my daughter loves it too.

Oh Don and Mags I am so jealous, it would be fantastic to see the sea daily, but I cannot complain, we live in Gloucestershire and there are lovely views to be had, its just that I am still a big kid at heart and love the seaside.
