Hi folks, this is my first post. I’m having ongoing problems with my balance. I get a few seconds warning before I collapse. Has anyone else experiencing this. Thanks
Hi Susie and welcome to the forum.
I 'm sorry you’re having problems, I get similar trouble, and it’s a curse. You don’t say whether or not you have an MS diagnosis, but if so, the condition can certainly affect your balance. However, there are many more things which can cause the same symptoms, so really you should talk to a doctor, or your neurologist if you have one.
I have both MS and Meniere’s Disease.
Meniere’s is violent, it gives no warning, I’m suddenly spun to the ground with force, it’s not at all frequent, in fact sometimes I don’t get it for years at a time. Other times I get a feeling of disequilibrium which can last all day, but is far less alarming and rarely causes me to fall. Hearing can be affected as well. The problem is that MS can also cause these symptoms, so it’s difficult to know which condition is responsible.
As I say above, you need to talk to a doctor. Only a medic can tell you what’s really going on. It could be as simple as an ear infection.

Thank you for your reply. I was diagnosed 6 years ago, the issues with my balance only experienced in the last 3 months. I will go to the doctors tomorrow. Thanks again Ben.
