Could it be m.s. causing these issues

Hi, ill try & keep it short but basically i started having issues with balance around 2 years ago this slowly became worse until last year my gp thought i had bilateral vestibular loss. ENT tests and mri show no cause for that and ive been discarged and told i need to see neurologist. I have all the balance issues that come with BVL, but i also have fatigue (not every day) cramps (feet, legs & fingers),spasms (mainly leg jerks) memory issues, wrong words for things, and now just this past week a feeling of dizziness/room moving whilst being sat down. I am not one to go to g.p unless im really poorly and i wonder if i should go back and ask to now be referred to neurology or just wait for them to contact me as the ENT consultant said they would send gp a letter to say they were discharging me. Sorry thst wasnt very short after all.

Hi, given how long letters can take to move between different medical teams, I would go see the GP and ask for the referral, the sooner you get that ball rolling the better. I have fluctuating balance issues, ENT checked for vestibular issues, ruled that out; wearing VR goggles whilst having warm water poured in my ears has to be one of the weirder tests I’ve ever had LOL!

Keep a symptom diary (if you aren’t already) with the what, when, how bad, how long - helps to identify anything that may be triggering symptoms and is a useful tool/reminder when you see the GP/Neurologist.

Do you find the symptoms get worse if you get hot, ie. hotter weather, hot shower/bath? If so, make sure you put that in bold, underlined in your symptom diary. Heat sensitivity is common with neurologic conditions.

Try not to overthink every twitch, twinge or wobble - and be kind to yourself, pace yourself, make sure you give yourself plenty of short breaks and take time each day to enjoy something, could be a good cup of coffee, looking at some beautiful flowers or listening to your favourite music for a bit.

Thankyou for reply, tbh the balance issues are daily no matter what. Im finding the leg spasms/jerks are after a day that i deem as having been active. I will as you suggest contact g.p. (why do i always feel like a fraud) and ask about referral to neuro.
Thankyou x

I think most people here have, at one time or another, felt awkward/ a fraud / making a fuss over nothing. When you are at the GPs for the umpteenth time and no closer to an answer you might start to think you have lost the plot - but hang in there. If the GP can’t figure it out they must refer you to a specialist who can.

Saw the doctor yesterday, referral to neurology done, she agrees the symptoms are pointing towards m.s. but thats not a definitive diagnosis and in meantime they will do other tests to rule out any other possible causes. So still a waiting game but i feel better that ive took the step to get answers for all these issues im having
