Hi all
I’ve been diagnosed with RRMS for 4 1/2 years. My major problems at the moment are aches and pains in my back and hips and numb hands when I wake up in the morning. I’ve tried Amitriptyline but it makes me so groggy in the morning. I’m alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol and using an ice pack on my back. Any other tips for pain relief? The numb hands are really upsetting me now and disturbing my sleep. Thanks xx
Hi, I`ve had agonising back pain at times and often it means my mattress and support cushions need changing.
Are you using pressure relief mattresses? District nurses can organise these for you.
Changing your position every 30 mins can ease the pain. I sit all day so know what it`s like.

Hi,
I find a mixture of amitriptyline, pregabalin and co-codamol keeps my neuropathic pain at bay.

Thanks Poll. My back pain is mostly at night too. My parents have given me their one year old orthopaedic mattress. They have replaced theirs recently while getting a bigger bed. It’s very comfortable but have still got the pain. I’ve only had it 2 days so hoping things improve X.
Thanks to everyone who has replied to my post. I had another MRI of my spine and it turns out I’ve got arthritis too!
Have you tried lately for laboratory test? Sometimes the back pain and hip pain is you UTI and numbness is high in sugar. Hope you will be okay.
