Hello!
I just wondered what was your normal wait time for your MRI results please?
Perhaps we can normalise waiting times and reassure each other. I am currently panicking, I’m scared either way, my symptoms are debilitating every day and I’m scared that either I do in fact have chronic disease, or that there is nothing to explain my symptoms. I’ll be stuck like this either way I guess!
My results have just shown on my portal although I am unable to read them yet, and my neurologist has booked a 4 month follow up appointment.
Does this mean my MRI is clear? Or is this standard follow up time? How long between your MRI and your follow-up and what were your results?
Thank you for reading/sharing.

Hi Rosie.
It doesn’t really mean anything at all just yet. Those images pass by a few people for assessment and discussion before they get you back in. I was told quite a few times by the radiologist that the consultant would have my MRI images in a couple of weeks then, thinking back, it was something like 3-4 months until my following appointment where I’d be checked over again then, 2 to 3 weeks after that I’d receive a letter from the consultant with a bit more detail. It does take time but, they do like to discuss these things in the multi disciplinary team meetings. I think they’re very careful to come to a correct conclusion and to make sure that nothing is missed.
Try not to clock watch. You’re in good hands but, often you just have to relax and wait for things to happen (it’s not easy I know) but, they will get back around to you
Take care mate x
Jon.

I agree. It’s always a frustrating wait, and the fact that rosiemay can see that there’s a result available but she isn’t allowed to see it seems to me a refinement of torture that she could really do without. How frustrating is that?? You do wonder sometimes whether the NHS is doing it on purpose (I know it isn’t really).
