i got my assessment report came today n the dr at atos failed me on every question, hes put that im lying about having ms and a personality disorder and theres nothing mentally or physically wrong with me, every medical condition is documented and proved in my medical records, i have a ms nurse, neurologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, im getting adaptations to my flat, obviously they never looked at my medical records for all these things, my medications which i brought with me i told him about what they are for and the side effects n he put there are no side effects, im on tramadol 3 times a day which knocks me about pretty badly, im so scared now and i have no idea about what to do,i have hospital visits to pay for with the taxis and i really cannot miss them, i really really need help and i would appreciate any help anyone could give me please, thankyou so much
Im so sorry. They do seem to be the least humane company i have ever heard of. You should appeal and get your ms nurse and gp to write letters detailing every issue you have. CAB should be you next call, show them the report. You have prof that your medication causes side effects, most meds do.
A trained chimp can do a better job than ATOSsers. I imagine you will get the decision turned over soon.
You could also write/email your local mp and outline what atos have done by ignoring all your medical evidance.
Goodluck

Of course you must appeal the decision as soon as you can. I would also suggest getting in touch your your nearest MS group for some support. Use the helpline number if you dont know who to contact. As has been stated you could also try the CAB and perhaps give the MS nurse a ring. I wonder if you filled the form in yourself or had some help? Our local GP surgery has help and advice for benefits applicants so it might be worth contacting your GP too.
Benefits and Work website also seem to help others so it is probably worth looking them up too.
There is lots of help, advice and support around - it is just a question of letting people know you need it right now. I would suggest making a note of who you call and what they suggest. It is important to keep track of what’s going on. I know that is not easy when you are unwell but there is not really an other option.
Good luck and hope it goes well for you.
You must appeal.
With the decision letter they will have sent you a little booklet called “What to do if you think our decision is wrong” At the back of the booklet is form. You need to fill this in.
Don’t worry if they didn’t send the booklet (they should do but sometimes don’t) you can download it here:
thanks everyone, ill need to sleep on it tonite coz im just wiped out, ill get a start on making calls tomorow to get confirmation letters from everyone to prove yet again my medical conditions to these heartless jerks, its a good job im up for a fight and willing to kick there butts into next year for what they have done to me, its not fair
he wrote down that the patient says she has multiple sclerosis and a personality disorder for which there is no proof to confirn the diagnosis’s, ITS IN MY FREAKING MEDICAL RECORDS dates and letters of scans, neurologist appointments, confirmation letters from the neurologist and psychiatrist, every condition i have is proven, confirmed on my medical records and by writing, i swear to god im going to go off my head, they want proof and paperwork…ill get every single appointment letter, confirmation letter from everyone that im under so far and im going to make them read the letters and then shove it down their necks, im sorry but im so angry
im kickin his a@@ and anyone else who gets in my way, he also put i dont pose a risk to anyone and suggests i get into work before three months…don’t pose a risk? ive had more than a few occasions where ive flew at people with keys in hand when i get scared or they get me angry, i get really angry when people tell me what to do and i just explode, but theres nothing in the report about that, theres nothing in their about my mental health, that my legs hurt bad when i walk for more than 10 minutes, he put i can walk for 10 metres therefore i have no mobility problems at all, even though i need to use two crutches, i thought the minimum was 20 metres? or have they changed it behind our backs again? he scored me nothing for incontinence although im seeing someone at the incontinence clinic and have to use the pads everyday and he said i have no incontinence issues, basically he put for everything i have no known issues and he put zero points on everything, he kept me there for 40 minutes but typed the report in 10 minutes and 13 seconds
Yes sorry to hear that as I remember you saying that the assessment had gone well.
Well they can not possibly argue with diagnosis in writing so am sure you will win on appeal, although such a hassle and something we could all do without.
Good luck!
thanks, the only reason i have’nt done somethin stupid is because i want to kick there backsides, but its so tempting at the moment
on the report it says no continence test administered…how the hell do they test you for that? give you 2 pints of water then watch you have a accident or see how slow you manage to get to a toilet?A@@HOLES
you really need to apeal plus try and get to the CAB also i would try and get your local MP in tow. this is really bad. he cannot say you have not got ms when diagnosed by a neuro.
good luck
This is disgraceful. You need to report this doctor to the highest office you can. Makes me scream how a GP’s opinion can overide a Neuros when it suits. This is state sponsored bullshit.
getting mum to read the report tomorow, she’s shocked because the last assessment i had i only had deppresion, now i have depression, personality disorder, ms and i failed…im still shocked at the stupidity that some people have got down to a perfected art, whats the expression? dont get mad get even? well im doing both, they want to see what this personality disorder can do when i kick off, they want proof, they will get it full force, im not keeping my mouth shut and let them walk all over me and scare me any more, this bit@h is biting back
im gettin cab involved, my dr, everyone else im under, once i get all the information i need for proof, im going to tell the dwp im going to the local paper and see what they say, not that its going to make a difference, they need’nt think they can mess me around with the appeal either coz ill call them every single day if i have to just to get them to sort it out just to get rid of me, ive got a evil streak a mile wide when i need it, they want to pick on a mentally ill disabled woman? i think im going to give mentally ill a whole new meaning when im finished
great thanks alot, ill go into it now
I was supposed to go for my ATOS assessment last Friday and was getting stressed in the run up to it. I got a phone call on thursday cancelling it as the medical practitioner was off SICK!!! How ironic is that? I’m now waiting for a rescheduled appointment. I know they’ll fail me anyway although I feel terrible and am in horrendous pain, I still “am able to push a button with 1 finger” so therefore able to work!!! If anyone knows of a job pushing a button or picking up an empty box, I’m the girl for the job! Deb

Just a thought - has this Atosser been a bit too clever?
You have been wrongly assessed in such a way that an appeal win is almost certain.
The assessor has met a target for getting applicants re-graded. **
You win an appeal - they meet their target – everybody wins.
Your several months of increased anxiety do not come into the assessor’s calculations.
Nail the guy!
You have done the BBC nationally.
Now go for the local press, local TV, local radio, your MP and go after that assessor.
Near you, there is probably a local Trade Union office. You may not be a member, but they are very often willing to help non-members by writing a formal sort of letter on your behalf. Asking why you should not take action for defamation of character might be a good place to start. This does not actually say that you will sue, but the hint is there, and it does show that you are being reasonable.
** Targets. Yes, we know that there are no such targets - it is just that if the assessors pass too many people, then they get called in for retraining, etc.
