Assistance Dog - help and advice please

Hi there,

I’m considering pursuing the idea of getting an assistance dog to help with everyday tasks. Does anyone on here have any help or advice they can give me?
I’m currently 18 years in with RRMS. My mobility has been impacted recently after being left without medication for 6 months in a cross-over muck up between coming off of fingolimod and switching to Cladribine. I am currently living by myself and would very much like to continue being independent despite being nudged towards assisted living. I am trying to find out as much as I can about assistance dogs that can hopefully make me confident to leave the house and gain back some confidence when out and about.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, sorry don’t really have any advice but I use to be a foster carer for puppy for 18 months in France so not sure what the conditions are in England, but if you do have a chance of assistance dog go for it, they totally change people’s lives its amazing what the dogs learn and wonderful seeing them change people’s lives

Good luck Poppy. I’m sure you will find the right dog and the love you receive will be wonderful.
