another fatigue question...

I know I’ve only had major surgery just over 2 weeks ago but my fatigue has gone into major overdrive… everything I do is equivilant to running a marathon!! My body is is so heavy and tired… permanently… Even just walking form one room to another room tires me out!! You know that horrible inside buzzy/shaky feeling and the feeling really ill? I am getting that every time I do anything!! My husband is so concerned and is not allowing me to do anything… and I really am not doing anything… (which is frustrating me but I’m accepting it)

It seems to be getting worse!! My body is reacting a lot more to what I am doing now than it did last week… is that normal?? Also my face flushes terribly when I excert myself… and by excerting, I mean walking upstairs!!

I know I’ve got to give my body time to heal after my surgery, but why is the fatigue getting worse??

Hi Jules

Possibly all those mixed messages careering around inside your body. Listen to your body -

it’s not happy. Very frustrating, yes, but you cannot fight it. Your husband seems a real diamond,

so get all the rest you can get, and when your body begins to calm down I’m sure you’ll find things

a little easier. Forget the stairs for now tho, unless you really need to climb them. Ask your husband

to give you a helping hand, and push you up those stairs! Try also, to make light of the situation. It

will pass at some point. But above all, make sure you have a very Happy Christmas - visits and visiting

may be off the cards, but adapt your thinking and make this Christmas equally wonderful!!

Have fun!

Hi Jules, you’re going to have to give it longer. Sorry love but 2 weeks just isn’t long enough.

I agree with Ali… you cannot fight it. Give into it a bit and things will improve.

Happy Christmas and really hope you feel better soon,
