Another fall

Hi everyone

Hope you are all doing as good as you can today, sun was out lovely yesterday, but today it’s hiding, but it’s dry.

Last night I was getting out my wheelchair to get into bed, not sure what happened, but went backwards and ended up prostate on the floor. On the way down I scraped the skin off my arm and to finish banged the back of my head on the chest of drawers.

My hubby was in the kitchen and came rushing in, but the position I was in I could not help myself and he could not get a good grip, what a bloody state to be in.

Luckily the neighbour was still up, a and although I was completely embarrassed, between them both they got me up and into bed. I have fallen many times before, but they have been more of a sedate fall, if you know what I mean, but this one was a full blown wallop, and really shook me up and makes me loose confidence.

I am ok, few good bruises, but I bloody hate ms, sorry.

Oh Pam thats awful. I hope you feel better today and arnt too badly bruised. It was nice of your neighbour to help but i know what you mean about feeling embarrassed. Last week I had a work man helping me back into my chair I just had to tell myself that we would probably never see each other again. I bet your neighbour didn’t mind at all… Did you have your best pyjamas on? I always worry that if anyone saw me I’d be wearing a tatty old nighty . Love Michelle and Frazer xx

so sorry to hear about your fall, it never ceases to amaze me how quickly they happen. You are not alone in hating this poxy condition. Arnica cream or tablets can help with the bruising, but only time will help the confidence.

All the best

Oh Pam! The dreaded falls but you will get your confidence back because like me you’re a survivor. Pick yourself up and slaver on the arnica have a good cry or meltdown and hold your head high no matter how embarrassing things get.

Hi Michelle

Thankks for your encouraging words, although a bit battered and bruised and a lump on my head, I am ok, it could have been a lot worse.

I had my flufffy pj’s on! The words my Gran used to tell me came flashing into my mind, she always said make sure you always have clean underwear on because you never know! Haha

Lovely Spring like day here today.

Hi Mick

Thanks for your kind words, really does help knowing that people on here understand.

I think it was the speed that I went wallop that shook me up so much, didn’t have any time to try and save myself.

Arnica slapped on, onwards and upwards against this poxy disease.

Hi Mags

Thanks for your kind words, they are so appreciated, and you are right, I have survived this horrible thing for many years, and will do so again.

It just takes its toll vying to keep fighting against it, as you well know, it does really help to hear encouragement from people who know what it’s like.

Lovely weather here today, that’s always cheering as well.

Hello Pam.

I’ve been a regular faller but I haven’t had one for three weeks. The chair to bed falls have been spectacularly bruising.

All I can do is offer you tons of hugs and empathetic sympathy.
