Advice on travelling with medication/letter

Hi all, I am going on holiday soon and I phoned the company that delivers my Copaxone to obtian a letter. This has arrived and I have a query. It states that I will be carrying 1 box of 28 syringes, I am only going for a week and will take only 7, should I ring them and get this changed? I don’t want security holding me up and asking questions.

Thanks

Hi Sue, I am going on holiday too a week today, I wouldn’t think it would matter about saying 28 syringes you can just explain you are only taking a weeks worth. I always get a letter from my gp with all my meds on. You could always ring the airport and ask there advice. Have a lovely time . Karen

Hi Karen, thanks for reply. It’s my first time travelling with my medication so do not want to hold things up at the airport, I will try and ring and find out.

Sue

Hi Sue,

I am on copaxone-5 weeks now and have just returned from a holiday abroad. I wouldn’t worry about the letter or travelling at all with the syringes. I had a letter from my MS nurse explaining that I was travelling with syringes and drugs andice packs etc. I told the check in woman I had medical syringes in my hand luggage, she was fine about didn’t want to see the letter. I mentioned it again to the X ray people at security check, again they were not at all concerned.

On the return journey as I had 2 spare syringes with me that I took just incase I mentioned it again at check in desk-again it was no problem, they didn’t want to see the MS nurse letter.

Enjoy your holiday

Cathy

Thanks for advice Cathy, appreciate it.
