Hi all, This may sound kind of desperate but I’m looking for a friend with experience of MS to talk with. Someone who understands this dreadful disease. I find that there are so many different opinions and often get confused. I live in the North Birmingham area and go to the Queen Elizabeth hospital. I know this may be very unorthodox but I’m kind of lost with all this MS Many thanks Julie xx
Hi Julie
Message me anytime if you want to talk. I don’t live anywhere near you but we can chat on here if you want? I’m just recently diagnosed so I totally get where your coming from and just feel I don’t want to tak about it to family/friends as they just don’t understand.

hi julie
i’m happy to chat on this forum.
are you talking about meeting face to face?
i’m in the greater manchester area and don’t travel well.
i meet local msers through a facebook group.
why not try making a fb group of your own.
the one i use is a closed group - not open to non members.
once you have a group who are willing to meet up, you just need to offer a time and place for the first one.
we used the local harvester because it was in a location with easy access to everybody (near a motorway junction).
good luck, you’ll probably be inundated with people signing up because we all want to meet others going through the same as us.

I have a vague memory of people on this forum mentioning the Birmingham QE hospital recently. So I’m pretty sure there are members who are local to you.
But if what you really want is people from wherever, who understand MS and many of the problems you are encountering, you can just use this public forum for that. If you feel happier and if it’s personal stuff, you can post anonymously. But if you’re feeling brave use your user name to make it easier for us to follow conversations.
If you have a particular subject / problem you want to hash out with a bunch of strangers, who are (mostly) kind, understanding and try to be helpful, then just start a new thread and let it out.
Sometimes it’s very cathartic to just write down what you’re feeling. And problems shared on this forum often feel slightly better after you’ve just written them down.

Hey! Wanted to let you know that there also some FB groups and there maybe it would a chance to meet someoe from your region and meet face to face…
Hi I’m am so rubbish at technology. I was hoping that someone could tell me about meetings in my area xx
Hi Thank you. I was hoping to meet someone or at least talk to someone. I find this process a bit strange lol but do appreciate all advice given xx
Hey Julze, do you have an MS nurse? Maybe he/she can help you out with a group local to you? Or if there’s an MS therapy centre, you may find more one on one there?
Sue
hi julie
why not post a thread on here asking if any people in your area fancy a meet up?
that way you are targeting people with ms.
good luck
